How Often Should You Have Your House Cleaned? A Practical Guide

Weekly cleaning suits households that generate a lot of daily wear: families with young kids, homes with shedding pets, anyone who cooks every night, and people who host often. It keeps kitchens and bathrooms from ever building up, and each visit is quick because there is never much to catch up on.

Bi-weekly is the most common schedule among our clients in Orange County, and for most two- to four-person households it is the sweet spot. Bathrooms and kitchens get attention before they slide, floors stay presentable, and the cost is manageable.

Monthly works for smaller households, tidy singles and couples, and second homes, especially when paired with a bit of upkeep in between. Expect each monthly visit to run a little longer, since there is more to reset.

Whatever the frequency, start with a deep clean so the schedule is maintaining a clean house rather than slowly catching up to one. And treat the schedule as adjustable: add a visit before guests arrive, skip a week when you are traveling, or move up to weekly for a busy season. We do not use contracts, so changing it is a text message.
