Deep Cleaning vs. Regular Cleaning: Which One Does Your Home Actually Need?

Regular cleaning is maintenance. It covers the things that get dirty every week: kitchen counters and stovetop, bathroom fixtures, floors, dusting on surfaces you can reach, trash. Done weekly or every two weeks, it keeps a home at the level it was last reset to, and it is priced accordingly.

Deep cleaning is the reset. It reaches the places a regular visit does not have time for: baked-on grease behind the stove, grout lines and soap scum, inside the microwave, baseboards and door frames, window sills and tracks, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and the dust behind and under furniture. It takes two to three times as long as a regular clean of the same home.

The honest rule of thumb: if it has been more than a couple of months since a thorough clean, or if you have never had one, start with a deep clean. A regular cleaning on top of months of buildup will look better for a day and then disappoint you. A deep clean gets the house to a real baseline.

After that, regular cleaning keeps it there. Most of our recurring clients in Fullerton and Orange County do exactly this: one deep clean to start, then weekly or bi-weekly visits, with a seasonal deep clean once or twice a year before the holidays or after a long summer. If you are not sure which you need, describe the house when you request a quote and we will tell you straight.
